What do you need to get married in Sumter?
First of all you need to get your marriage license. You can go to any county probate court in the state, and then use that license anywhere in the state to get married. In Sumter (and Sumter County), you can go to the Probate Court to obtain your license. See their website, Sumter County Probate Court, for all the details. Once you get your license you can use it in Sumter or anywhere else in the State of SC to get married.
After you get your license, then all you need is someone to officiate the marriage and sign the paperwork. No witnesses are required in SC. You don’t even have to have a ceremony if you don’t wish. Just get the paperwork completed. if you want a ceremony, then you need to think about your vows.

I can either come to your home or apartment, or meet you at a park. Couples often choose to get married at Swan Lake and Iris Gardens which is a very nice location for a wedding ceremony. And it’s free!

Our Fees
For the Sumter, SC area my fee is $125 to perform a wedding ceremony. You can reduce the cost if you meet me half way. I perform a lot of marriages for people from Sumter at the Southeast Park and at Pinewood Lake Park. The fee for that is $90.
