South Carolina couples pick up their marriage license from the county probate court before the ceremony — in Greenville County, that’s the Greenville County Probate Court. After the ceremony, the officiant signs all three copies of the license and returns two copies within 15 days. Because I’m also a licensed notary public, I handle the signing directly and make sure everything is filed correctly.
