Custom Ceremony Scripts & Vows
Your ceremony should sound like you, not a template pulled from a drawer. I work with every couple to write personalized vows and readings that reflect your story — included with every ceremony, no extra charge.

What You Need to Get Married in the Charleston Area

You’ll need a marriage license from a South Carolina county probate court before the ceremony — it can be used anywhere in the state, and there’s no waiting period once it’s issued, so same-day ceremonies are possible. No witnesses are required in South Carolina, and you don’t have to have a ceremony at all if you’d rather just get the paperwork signed. I’ll walk you through the whole process before your wedding day.

Serving Folly Beach and the Surrounding Area

Folly Beach is a relaxed, laid-back setting for a beach ceremony near the pier, and the beach itself doesn’t charge for a wedding (a permit is required for groups over 25). I regularly officiate beach weddings and elopements on Folly Beach and throughout James Island.

I’m a South Carolina notary public appointed by the SC Secretary of State, and besides officiating, I also offer wedding photography and can perform vocals for your ceremony. Have questions or want a quote for your specific date? Visit the main Charleston page or reach out below.
